 FAQS

  • Yes! Colloqate is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax deductible per IRS regulations. Our EIN is 82-1112244.

  • Great question! Every contribution is valuable. Recurring donations are the most helpful for sustaining our organizing practices, covering time and materials for community gatherings, and all the organic conversations that happen outside the regular 9-5 schedule.

    • Donations at the $100-$500 range allow us to compensate community members for their time responding to time-sensitive surveys, or provide stipends for Community Design Advocates & Organizers to join us in presentations and conferences to share the impact of their work with audiences that need some shaking up.

    • Contributions at the $1000-$5000 range are especially helpful for capacity building, working with consultants and partners to grow our whole team’s skills as organizers, project managers, architects, and researchers. This also helps us cover the costs of larger gatherings with allied organizations and community partners to build power and strengthen relationships in movement.

For those of our friends and allies with access to generational wealth, giving above $5000 is a powerful multiplier of Colloqate’s programming.

    • $5-$10k can cover the stipend and material costs for participants in our Community Design Advocates & Organizers training cohorts, or offset the cost of a Design Justice Training for smaller design practices or community based organizations.

    • $30k-$50k allows us to provide culturally responsive design as direct service to organizations and initiatives that serve equity-seeking communities of color and culture who face systemic barriers to hiring architects. Your support allows us to do this work without placing a fundraising burden on the communities we serve.

  • Awesome! Contact us at collaborate@colloqate.org and share some details, and we’ll get back to you within 5 business days. Our team includes researchers, community organizers, graphic and architectural designers, and we have an extensive network so if we’re not the right partner, we can always help make introductions to someone who might be.

  • As long as we are values aligned and you’re committed to our mission, we’d love to connect. We’re always open to partnering with firms and organizations who are interested in sponsoring our programs, including:

    • Design Justice Trainings for the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry.

    • Community Design Advocates & Organizers Training Program.

    • Local “Our Power” Convenings for folks in the design field to explore how to take action towards Design Justice.

    • National Design Justice Summits.

Contact us at collaborate@colloqate.org if you want to discuss any of this (or something else entirely).
